Your whole body was shaking from fatigue as you watched the Demon King Ganon fall onto the ground. Holding your breath, you looked on how his heavy body collapsed with a loud thud onto the earth, blowing up a lot of dust in the process. For a while, you kept staring intently at the unconscious colossal monster and it wasn't until you were absolutely sure that Ganon was defeated that your tense body finally relaxed as you slumped your shoulders in exhaustion, letting out a deep sigh.

"We...we did it."
You muttered under your breath, barely audible. The fact that you had, indeed, just bet the Great King of Evil still seemed somewhat surreal to you and so you turned around to meet your partner's gaze.
As soon as you locked eyes with Link, the blond boy flashed you a faint, yet warm smile while giving you a quick nod – and in this instant realisation finally hit you.
A huge grin quickly crept up onto your face as you started to dash over to the young hero, letting out several cries of joy.
"We did it, Link! We finally did it! We bet Ganon!"

The blond man welcomed you with open arms and embraced you in a tight hug, giving your body a light squeeze as you snuggled up to your lover.
Giving you a chaste kiss on your forehead, Link closed his eyes and pressed you even tighter against himself before burying his head into the crook of your neck, mumbling against your ear.
"Yeah, it's finally over."

Without saying another word, the two of you stayed in each others arms for a while before Link carefully pulled away from you, only to press his lips softly against yours. You melted into the sweet kiss of your beloved man and just as you were about to put your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss, a radiant share started to surround the two of you and before you knew it, you were engulfed by a bright light.

Seconds later, you were standing in front of Princess Zelda, who smiled warmly at Link and you. The royal female put one of her hand over her chest as she voiced her gratefulness to you.
"Link. (f/n). It's thanks to the both of you that Hyrule hasn't sunk into total chaos."

Princess Zelda, then, breathed out a small sigh and paused for a moment before continuing to speak, her expression suddenly changing into a sad one.
"It is my fault all of this happened. I should have sensed Ganondorf's evil nature the moment he'd set foot in Hyrule Castle. I'm incredibly sorry that I had to drag you into this mess. The two of you had to go through a lot of awful things because of me."

Seeing that Princess Zelda was at the verge of tears, Link quickly waved off her worries as he assured her that what had happened wasn't her fault at all.
"Don't worry, Princess. Nobody could have predicted that something like this would possibly happen."

"That's right. No one but Ganondorf himself is to blame for it."
You promptly chimed in, wanting to reassure Princess Zelda.
"Everyone's safe and sound now. That's all that matters, isn't it?"

The royal female gave the two of you a small smile, relieved that you weren't blaming her for the horrible turn of events. Soon after, she turned to Link, directing her next words at the blond man while looking him squarely into his eyes.
"Well, I guess the time has come. Link, you must lay the Master Sword to rest and close the Doors of Time. By doing so the road of time will be closed as well."

Link nodded his head, signalizing that he understood what had to be done and unstrapped the Master Sword from his back before putting in carefully down on the ground in front of Princess Zelda.
The cerulean-eyed male proceeded to take the Ocarina of Time out of his pocket and just as he was about to hand the young royal the blue instrument, he stopped dead in his tracks as the princess' next words reached his ears.

"As a Sage and the holder of the Triforce of Wisdom, I can return you to your original time by using the Ocarina of Time."

Link quickly withdrew his hand, clutching the Ocarina of Time tightly and pressing it against his chest as if wanting to protect it.

The blond man's unexpected action caused Princess Zelda to gasp in shock and she stared confused into Link's blue eyes.

Worried about your lover's sudden change of heart, you turned around and gave him a questioning look.
"Link? Why didn't you give Princess Zelda the Ocarina of Time?"

The young hero's gaze softened upon hearing your worried tone and letting out a deep sigh, he turned around to face Princess Zelda, explaining his doings.
"I don't want to return, your highness. I want to stay here, with (f/n)."

Upon hearing Link's explanation, the royal female's expression instantly fell. A sad smile adored her face as she started to reply the blond man.
"I'm very sorry, Link. But as the Princess of Hyrule, I have to make sure that everything happens at the will of the Goddesses. You have to return to your original time, you don't have any other choice."

Link creased his face into a deep scowl, obviously not happy about the answer he'd got.
"But-"

"It's okay, Link."
Before he could even start to protest, you quickly grabbed one of Link's hand which caused him to flinch in surprise.

Not quite understanding why you were totally fine with the two of you parting, he knit his brows in irritation.
"What? But (f/n), I love you. I want to stay with you!"

Giving the blond man's hand a tight squeeze, you flashed him a small smile.
"And I love you, Link. However, we can't go against the Goddesses' will, can we? Besides, it's not like I'm going to forget you, right?"

"Actually..."
Princess Zelda's voice caught Link's and your attention, causing the both of you to look into her direction. You noticed the female's apologetic expression and grimaced, already sensing that whatever she was going to say next wouldn't be anything good.
"The magic I'll use to sent you back is very strong. Link, you are blessed with the Triforce of Courage, it will protect you and once you're back, you'll remember everything that had happened."

The young royal, then, turned to you and took a deep breath before continuing.
"(f/n), however...I'm afraid you'll loose all your memories of what had happened during the time of Ganondorf's reign. I'm very sorry."

Your eyes widened upon hearing Princess Zelda's words and the shock was clearly written all over your face. But even so, you managed to take a deep breath to collect your thoughts. You knew that fretting over it wouldn't help you at all, especially since you didn't have another choice in the first place.
"Alright. I understand."

Pulling yourself together, you turned around to face Link and flashed him the best smile you managed to muster, trying to hide the tears that were starting to form at the corner of your eyes.
"I love you, Link. I love you with all my heart."

"(f/n)..."
The blond male was at a loss of words. It was crystal clear that you were at the verge of tears and yet you tried your best to keep it in, not wanting to make the parting even painfuller as it already was. The young hero only pulled you against his body, embracing you tightly while stroking your hair with one of his warm hands.
"I love you. I promise that we'll meet again."

Hearing your lover's word, you couldn't hold it any longer and started to sob with your face buried against his chest as all different kinds of memories of your time together with the blond man ran through your head.

You remembered how you'd met him.

"Who are you and how did I get here?"
Those had been the first words you'd heard as you'd met your beloved boyfriend. His rather rude questions had earned him a huff and a testy reply from you at that time. You'd really expected a friendlier reaction from the person whose butt you'd saved. However, after you'd explained that you'd rescued him from getting killed by a ReDead after he'd lost consciousness, Link had turned out to be a really nice guy – not to mention that you'd already found him extremely handsome back then. Normally, your ways would had parted after you'd nursed him back to health, but it'd been thanks to your stubbornness and persistent demeanour that you'd ended up travelling with the blond male – and that was surely a decision you'd never once regretted.

You remembered how he'd confessed to you.

You'd been taking a break before entering the next temple on the day Link had confessed to you. While the cerulean-eyed man had been having a nap at your camp, you'd wandered off, searching for a nice spot to watch the upcoming sunset. As you'd been enjoying the beautiful play of colours, you'd started to think about Link, seeing as you'd already had a huge crush on the young hero at that time. In the end, you'd been so absorbed in your thoughts that you hadn't even noticed that it'd already become night. Just as you'd been about to rush back to the camp, a group of Poes had attacked you. Lucky for you, Link had come just in time to rescue you. The blond hero had been quite worried about you and so he'd embraced your shaking body in a tight hug, confessing his love to you and making you the happiest person alive.

And you remembered how you'd loved each other for the first time.

Link and you had been staying at the inn in Kakariko Village, preparing yourselves to enter the Shadow Temple. You'd just finished stocking up on everything you'd needed and were spending your last night at the rustic guest-house. The current circumstances had made it really hard for the two of you to live the life of a normal couple, but you had still managed to enjoy the rare peaceful moments you'd got and so, Link and you had forgotten everything around you while you spend a wonderful night together as lovers.

You let out a dry chuckle as you recalled the flustered expression on Link's face the next day you'd woken up and couldn't but smile at the precious memory.

"Are you ready?"

Princess Zelda's voice jolted you out of your thoughts and you quietly pulled away from Link, giving the female royal a silent nod in approval.
Closing your eyes, you took a last deep breath before a soft tune reached your ears and the very next second, everything around you turned pitch black.

*****

Having a good yawn, you stretched yourself before rubbing the sleep out of your eyes and getting out of your comfy bed. You trudged over to the kitchen and poured yourself a glass of water. After you'd downed the whole glass of the cold liquid in one, you heaved a deep sigh, remembering the strange dream you'd had that night.

It was about a blond man who was clad in a green tunic. The male travelled together with a young woman and they were both on a journey to defeat evil. You could tell from the way how they looked at each other that they were deeply in love and even though everything around them seemed to sink into total chaos, their love didn't seem to suffer from it, but got only stronger.

You'd been having dreams about this couple for a few days now. You had no idea who they were, but they seemed oddly familiar to you. Was is maybe some story you'd read about as a kid? Or maybe you'd overheard some people talking about a similar tale?

Your stomach's loud growl interrupted your train of thoughts and you quickly changed your clothes, so that you could get something to eat. Once you'd got dressed, you stepped out of your small cottage and started to saunter into the direction of Castle Town's huge market place, humming a quiet a tone to yourself and totally forgetting about the strange dreams and the blond stranger.

*****

It's already been a few months since you started to have the dreams about the blond male and the young woman. You were currently sitting on a small bench which was standing in front of your cottage and enjoyed the sun's warmth on your skin as you caressed your baby bump. Soon, a little baby would be born and you smiled at the imagination of a small child running around the house.
Truth be told, you had not the foggiest idea about how you'd got pregnant since you'd never had a lover in the first place. But strangely enough, it felt kind of natural to you to be pregnant and so you didn't even question it any further. The strange dreams about the young couple had become even more intense over the past few weeks and for some reason, they calmed your nerves and you had the feeling as if you didn't have to worry about anything that was happening.

Feeling the little child inside your womb giving you a kick, you let out a quiet chuckle.
"Mhh, I wonder...are you a baby boy or a baby girl? Will you tell me?"

As if answering to your question, the baby kicked you once again, but this time a little bit harder. You couldn't help but grin.
"Is that a no? So, you want it to be a surprise? Alright."

Humming, you continued to stroke your big belly as you watched the cotton-wool clouds in the sky, thinking about all the things you still had you get for the baby and already pondering over how to name your child.

*****

"Hey, little Link."
The little baby boy let out a small giggle as you tickled his tummy and you chuckled yourself at the cute reaction of your son.
"Mommy loves you sooooo much."

You hadn't had to think twice about how to name your baby boy, the name 'Link' instantly popped up in your mind, alongside with a blurry picture of the young man from your dreams. You had no doubt that 'Link' was the perfect name for your little boy.

A blissful smile promptly found its way onto your face as you watched your baby clapping his hands happily together as he spotted a butterfly that was flying by.

"(f/n)?"

Hearing your name being called, you stopped playing with your son and turned around, spotting a young, blond man with cerulean eyes who looked exactly like the man from your dreams.
You blinked a few times, trying to understand what was going on and stared with your eyes wide open at the male in front of you, who gave you a warm smile.

Your eyes instantly widened as you suddenly started to remember. You remembered that all the things you'd been dreaming about had actually happened. You remembered that the man who was standing in front of you was Link, your lover. You remembered how you had defeated Ganondorf and you remembered how Princess Zelda had sent you back in time.

Not wasting another second, Link quickly pulled you into a tight hug before asking you the question he'd been afraid to ask you every since the two of you had been sent back in time.
"(f/n)...do...do you remember me?"

You meekly nodded your head against his chest as tears of joy started to stream down your cheeks.
"Yes. I remember you, Link."

"Oh, thank the Goddesses."
Letting out a relieved sigh, Link pressed a soft kiss against your forehead.
"I've missed you so much."

You looked up at your lover, flashing him a warm smile.
"I've missed you, too."

Suddenly, your happy reunion with Link was interrupted by your little son's bubbly laughter. This caught immediately the blond male's attention and he carefully pulled away from you, looking into the direction of the noise.
There, Link spotted a small cradle which caused him to shoot you a questioning look. A small smile was tugging at the corners of your lips as you motioned for him to take a look at the crib.

Cautiously, the young hero walked over to the wooden baby bed and peered inside, only to spot a small child that was merely a few weeks old. With eyes widen open he turned back to look at you, muttering under his breath.
"Is...is he...mine?"

Even though his mumbling had been barely audible, you'd still caught his words and nodded your head in confirmation.
"Yeah, that's our little baby boy."

A wide smile made its way onto Link's face upon hearing your answer and he looked back at his son, his eyes filled with love.
"Can I hold him?"

"Sure."
Answering in the affirmation, you picked up your baby boy and placed him carefully into Link's arms.

The blond man watched in awe as the child snuggled into his arms.
"How did you name him?"

"...Link."
You admitted with a small blush adorning your cheeks, somewhat shy about the fact that you'd named your boy after your lover.

Link only chuckled at your reply and poked his son's little nose what caused the baby to giggle happily in response.
"Well, aren't you a cute one, little Link."

You smiled warmly, letting a chuckle escape your lips as you watched the heart-warming interaction between Link and your baby boy.

Hearing this, Link shot a glance at you before turning his attention back to the small child in his arms.
"Thanks for taking care of your mommy while I wasn't here, little one."

He, then, quickly grabbed your wrist with one of his hands and pulled you towards him, only to catch your lips in a sweet kiss the very next second. Placing his chin atop of your head, he pressed  your body tightly against his.
"But don't you worry now...I'll never leave the both of you ever again."

You hummed contently in response and snuggled up against Link, enjoying the warmth of your lover's embrace. Hearing your child's happy giggling you couldn't doubt that the three of you would make a lot of happy memories together.
Another LoZ story! ( ^∇^) It's so cheesy, though~ Thaha

It's somewhat a sequel to a story I wrote about a year ago (I guess?)
